HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

We have an immediate opening for a full time HR manager.

Essential job requirements:
● 2 years minimum exempt level generalist HR experience required, experience at a Wisconsin employer preferred.
● 2+ years experience with payroll and benefits management.
● Knowledge of management skills to analyze programs, policies and operational needs.
● Knowledge of principles of labor relations and personnel administration.
● Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
● Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
● Professional demeanor at all times.

Job duties: 

Personnel & benefits management (60%)
● Plans, directs, manages and oversees recruitment, classification, selection, and compensation of employees; employee relations; personnel records; risk management; workers’ compensation;
employee benefits; employee development; and diversity development.
● Schedules and coordinates staff training for all new hires, and ongoing training sessions for current employees.
● Administers, coordinates, maintains, and oversees employee relations, employee benefits, classification, and compensation, including the following benefits:
○ Group health insurance, dental, life, short- and long- term disability, 401k
○ Insurance enrollment, terminations and COBRA
○ Workers and unemployment compensation claims
○ Union reporting of hours and benefits monthly for Ironworkers, Carpenters, and Teamsters Unions
○ Annual OSHA Reporting
○ Annual flexible spending forms
○ Annual benefit account reconciliation
● Participates in and documents personnel meetings, and retains all notes from meetings.
● Tracks and documents employee performance, including monitoring of daily responsibilities such as timekeeping, Kaizen, and paperwork duties.
● Helps the Director of Operations document job processes, and works with employees to update job descriptions and work instructions as tasks change.
● Tracks and schedules 15-, 30- and 45-day reviews for new hires, and regular reviews for existing employees.
Payroll (20%)
● Process payroll weekly using TSheets and QuickBooks.
● Tracks employee vacation and sick time using Quickbooks.
● Calculate weekly pay using Quickbooks.

Fleet Operations Support (20%)
● Track fuel and mileage for vehicles included in the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), and submit quarterly reports to the DOT.
● Track fuel and mileage for vehicles included in the International Reporting Plant (IRP), and submit quarterly reports to the DOT.
● Check the pre-trip inspection log daily to ensure employees are completing their inspections.
● Check job safety sheets daily, and maintain proper documentation.
● Maintain the company safety policy, and update on applicable websites (ISNet) when necessary.
● Set up and maintain driver qualifications in the United Van Lines system.

– A driver’s license & a clear driving record.

– Availability between 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday (occasional Saturdays).

– Ability to lift 50 pounds.

– Ability to follow direction.
